Team New England College of Optometry
Did you know that over 670 million are blind or visually impaired only because they cannot get the vision care or glasses that they need?
Did you know that one of the biggest challenges is that there aren’t enough locally trained optometrists in developing countries?_
Optometry Giving Sight not only provides the eye exam and glasses, but also provides sustainability. In Mali, West Africa, there is only one optometrist to serve a population of 14 million. Optometry Giving Sight has helped establish a school of optometry training students all over Africa, many of whom will become the first optometrists in their home countries.
As optometry students, we are asking you to support this worthwhile cause and help raise funds so that more optometry students can be locally trained to provide eye care in their communities.
